Land Acquisition for New Parishes
We must continue
to acquire new land in strategic, growing communities in order
to build for the future. This land will provide a foundation for our
parish plants, and enable us to reach new members and continue our growth.
We are seeking the strategic
placement
of seven new Episcopal churches during the next 20 years.
FACTS:
• Eleven (11) parishes and worship communities
were established by our diocese
from 1991 to 2004.
• In 2004, there were a total of 1,818 baptized members in these eleven
parishes.
• These 1,818 members make up 5.3% of the diocesan total weekly attendance.
• On average, 802 people per week attend these parishes for worship.
• We believe that inaction at this time would seriously impede our hope
for future
growth.
