A New Chapel at Camp McDowell
Camp McDowell is
the spiritual center of our diocesan community. It’s a visual,
physical reminder that Christ is the center of our
lives. A new chapel up the hill will provide a welcome focal point for
camp, allowing for the increase in numbers for meetings and fellowship.
The new
chapel is planned to accommodate approximately 500 people and include a
large downstairs area for conference space and fellowship
events.
It’s where
adults, youth, and children in our diocese come together for:
• Spiritual Nourishment
• Summer Camp
• Retreats
• Leadership Training
• Worship and Prayer
• Fellowship
FACTS:
• The chapel is used for retreats, worship, celebrations,
and other fellowship events.
• Usage of the current chapel has tripled over the past twelve years.
• Many events held there overflow the 200-seat capacity, forcing many to
stand
outside.
• Because of our growth, we require additional worship and fellowship space.
