Strategic Plan for Mission

In 2002, the Episcopal Diocese formed a Strategic Planning Committee to give us direction, focus, and a voice to all our hopes and concerns for the future.

Each parish vestry and diocesan department was invited to send in their plans, hopes, and dreams for the future of the diocese. Clergy and over 500 laity shared thoughts and ideas for the resulting document: a strategic mission plan for the diocese. While over 241 distinct aspirations were identified, with God’s guidance, our diocesan convention focused on six most pressing areas of need, all of which require capital funding.

The key components of this plan comprise our Acts2 Campaign Case Statement. This campaign will give us the resources we need to continue building our ministries to grow the Episcopal Church, provide for our congregations and leaders, communicate more effectively, and continue serving God while sharing his love with others.

We pray that you will review the following initiatives with an open heart and open mind, so that we can seize new opportunities in mission together, as the Episcopal Church enters the 21st century with renewed hope in witnessing to the resurrected Christ and to God's transforming love for the world.

They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread and the prayers....All that believed were together and had all things in common.
